The Schoolhouse—a fresh new name and an exciting new chapter in our journey of serving children and families. This new space reflects our continued commitment to fostering growth and providing thoughtful care for every child. We have always believed learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we have chosen to really focus on meeting children where they are—empowering them to grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability.
Enrollment ranges from 6 weeks to 13 years, we offer part-time, full-time, and before-and-after school care.
Our space is newly renovated and is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped to support hands-on learning, creative exploration, and meaningful connection.

Meet Brittney – Founder & Heart Behind Our Schools
Brittney brings over 14 years of experience in licensed childcare facilities—and a lifetime of passion for nurturing children.
Raised by amazing parents who fostered over 26 children, Brittney learned early on the power of love, patience, and care. Growing up with 10 siblings in the country, she discovered that play was the foundation of learning.
Now a proud mother of 5, Brittney draws inspiration from her childhood, where her parents modeled what it means to be kind, free-spirited, and connected to a natural way of living.
Her journey has been one of dedication and heart—and today, she opens her centers as an extension of her passion for education and childcare. Each day, she pours her love and experience into creating a space where children are safe, valued, and encouraged to grow through play and discovery.
Sarah Degalle

Hello, my name Sarah Deegalle! I have dedicated eight years to childcare, including two impactful years with HBLA. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a lead teacher for children aged two through thirteen. My experience extends beyond the classroom, encompassing roles as a cook, office aid, and lesson plan coordinator. Above all, I prioritize safety. My goal in this new position is to foster a secure and nurturing environment for every child who enters our doors.

Hi my name is Lauren Kimbrell and I have worked for HBLA for almost 4 years and I started off as a teacher and I worked my way up to office staff. I absolutely love my job and getting to love these kids like they are my own. I have one son who will be starting high school this year. My favorite part about my job is seeing the kids grow and learn.
Sydney Mejia

Hi, my name is Sydney Mejia. I have been employed with HBLA for over 6 years. I started off as the lead infant teacher & have worked my way up to working as an office team member. I am a mother to three boys & one girl. I love watching sports with my fiancé, I’m a huge Texas Longhorns fan, I enjoy going out on family outings, & just being around my kids! I enjoy my job because I get to engage with the kids & help them grow & learn while making sure they’re in the best care putting parents minds at ease while they’re at work. I am looking forward to getting to know & meeting new parents & kids!
