The School House
The Schoolhouse—a fresh new name and an exciting new chapter in our journey of serving children and families. This new space reflects our continued commitment to fostering growth and providing thoughtful care for every child. We have always believed learning isn’t one-size-fits-all. That’s why we have chosen to really focus on meeting children where they are—empowering them to grow in confidence, curiosity, and capability.
Enrollment ranges from 6 weeks to 13 years, we offer part-time, full-time, and before-and-after school care.
Our space is newly renovated and is thoughtfully designed and fully equipped to support hands-on learning, creative exploration, and meaningful connection.
Come grow with us!

Sarah Degalle
Director
Hello, my name Sarah Deegalle! I have dedicated eight years to childcare, including two impactful years with HBLA. I’ve had the privilege of serving as a lead teacher for children aged two through thirteen. My experience extends beyond the classroom, encompassing roles as a cook, office aid, and lesson plan coordinator. Above all, I prioritize safety. My goal in this new position is to foster a secure and nurturing environment for every child who enters our doors.
Kathleen Badgett
Assistant Director
Chokma! My name is Kathleen Badgett, and I’m honored to step into the role of Assistant Director. I look forward to helping The School House continue to thrive and grow with a strong commitment to creating a safe, warm, inclusive, and engaging learning environment for every child. I have over 13 years of experience in early childhood education, working with children from 6 weeks old to school age. Much of my career has been spent as an infant teacher, where I’ve had the joy of celebrating life’s many firsts alongside my students. Throughout the years, I’ve also served in a variety of roles—including cook, office aide, school drop-off and pick-up chauffeur, and assistant director—giving me a well-rounded perspective on what it takes to support a thriving childcare community. I am deeply passionate about nurturing young minds, fostering creativity, and building a strong foundation for lifelong learning. Outside of work, I love spending time outdoors—whether it’s taking walks, swimming, or camping—especially when I can share those moments with my family. I’ve been married to my wonderful husband for 15 years, and together we have two amazing children who inspire me every day. I am excited to continue growing alongside our team and the families we serve, helping to create a place where every child can feel safe, valued, and encouraged to explore the world around them.
